"We made a trip from Caridff to Tintern Abbey today which was great. When we finished we were a bit peckish & decided to get some lunch. The pubs opposite the Abbey was very busy so we decided to drive further down the road to look for something. We came across The Sloop Inn. Out came my phone to check... "

"We had a weekend at a cottage near the Sloop in so ate there a couple of times of that weekend.
The first time we sampled the chilli, it was lovely. The accompanying rice was also very good.
The second time I had the lamb shank with mash and veg.. Absolutely beautiful! The others had steak and that was lovely too, cooked very well and great portions.
Would highly recommend the food here. "

"This is a big Thank You for looking after our party of 25 so well on Saturday 23 December. The room was ideal, service excellent and warm welcome very much appreciated. The children were free to roam and the food and drink put all of in exactly the right frame of mind to enjoy Clearwell Caves later that day. A very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year to 'The Family Sloop'. "

"We will be going back! Beautiful location great food and really friendly staff. The bed was a bit squeeky so we will be opting for the 4 poster next time. Breakfast was traditional and really good lot's of beautiful things to see near by we went tintern abbey and Monmouth for the day. "

"Stayed at the Sloop Inn on the way to Cardiff for one night booked on lastminute.com .Had the small room overlooking the rooftop but perfectly fine . Food both at breakfast and in the evening excellent as was the beer Doom Bar . A great find and we shall be back .Thanks "
