"This is a big Thank You for looking after our party of 25 so well on Saturday 23 December. The room was ideal, service excellent and warm welcome very much appreciated. The children were free to roam and the food and drink put all of in exactly the right frame of mind to enjoy Clearwell Caves later that day. A very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year to 'The Family Sloop'. "

"We had a weekend at a cottage near the Sloop in so ate there a couple of times of that weekend.
The first time we sampled the chilli, it was lovely. The accompanying rice was also very good.
The second time I had the lamb shank with mash and veg.. Absolutely beautiful! The others had steak and that was lovely too, cooked very well and great portions.
Would highly recommend the food here. "

"ust got back from 3 nights at the Sloop Inn and can report on a good weekend. Peter and his staff made us very welcome and the food was really excellent in all respects. Our room was a little tired and old fashioned but in some way that added to the charm of the Inn. There was plenty of very hot water and the facilities perfectly adequate, if not luxurious and the stay was good value.
The location and surrounding area is stunningly beautiful and there is lots to see if you like the outdoors and particularly walking/exploring. The Sloop is right on the river and there is easy access to all the main beauty spots and historic sights etc. Good PUB accommodation in cracking location, if you want the Ritz go somewhere else but take a bigger wallet. "

"Have eaten here on and off for more than 20 years, third time under the new owners. Food is very good quality, with 'proper' sized portions, at great prices. Children's menu has a lot of choice, although their portions were so big my two couldn't finish them! Very friendly service too. Can't wait to go back! "
