The Sloop Inn, Llandogo What Our Customers Say

"Good location, good food, basic but good value for money"
Karen, 5 Star Google Rating and Review

"The Sloop is my favourite hotel in Wales."
Matthew, New York, USA

"We ate here once before and decided then to re-visit. We are glad that we did as our stay was quite a pleasant one. The four poster bed was really comfortable the evening meal was very tasty and the portions generous as was the very hearty breakfast. The owner is quite friendly and the service was good. We are planning to visit again. "

Monica & Mita, Australians from Austria

"ust got back from 3 nights at the Sloop Inn and can report on a good weekend. Peter and his staff made us very welcome and the food was really excellent in all respects. Our room was a little tired and old fashioned but in some way that added to the charm of the Inn. There was plenty of very hot water and the facilities perfectly adequate, if not luxurious and the stay was good value.

The location and surrounding area is stunningly beautiful and there is lots to see if you like the outdoors and particularly walking/exploring. The Sloop is right on the river and there is easy access to all the main beauty spots and historic sights etc. Good PUB accommodation in cracking location, if you want the Ritz go somewhere else but take a bigger wallet. "Thank you for making us feel so welcome. Excellent food."
Wendy & John

"We visited the pub twice whilst staying in a nearby cottage over the weekend.

The pub is dog friendly, dogs are allowed in the bar area (not in the lounge) but the bar area is spacious, comfortable and you can also eat in there. There is also a nice spacious beer garden, with patio & benches and a grassy area.

The owners and locals were warm and friendly. Talked to us about the area, where we were staying etc.

We had a couple of drinks in there on a Saturday afternoon and then went back for dinner in the evening. Menu is varied and good old fashioned pub grub, but cooked very well. i.e surf and turf, hunters chicken, steak etc.

We both enjoyed our meals and the prices were reasonable. If in the area we would certainly return again for a drink or some food. "
