"Have eaten here on and off for more than 20 years, third time under the new owners. Food is very good quality, with 'proper' sized portions, at great prices. Children's menu has a lot of choice, although their portions were so big my two couldn't finish them! Very friendly service too. Can't wait to go back! "

"This is a big Thank You for looking after our party of 25 so well on Saturday 23 December. The room was ideal, service excellent and warm welcome very much appreciated. The children were free to roam and the food and drink put all of in exactly the right frame of mind to enjoy Clearwell Caves later that day. A very Happy Christmas and prosperous New Year to 'The Family Sloop'. "

"We ate here once before and decided then to re-visit. We are glad that we did as our stay was quite a pleasant one. The four poster bed was really comfortable the evening meal was very tasty and the portions generous as was the very hearty breakfast. The owner is quite friendly and the service was good. We are planning to visit again. "

"We will be going back! Beautiful location great food and really friendly staff. The bed was a bit squeeky so we will be opting for the 4 poster next time. Breakfast was traditional and really good lot's of beautiful things to see near by we went tintern abbey and Monmouth for the day. "
